joe100
Some progress photos of S/Y Endurance as she appeared on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. By far one of my favorite ships. Im stopped right now as I'm waiting on my rigging wire to continue Edited February 22, 2017 by joe100 Alex Bellinger, Landlubber Mike, Chasseur and 6 others
IgorSky
WOW, Joe100! Very nice work! I have long been looking for drawings of this ship, but could not find. I look forward to the sequel! Best Regards! Igor. Chasseur
joe100
Thanks Igor! I have a couple sets of drawings which worked for the purpose of a build this small. Shoot me your email and I'll send them over. Original copies can be ordered from the U.K. But they're £100 a copy. IgorSky
Are you going to make a diorama with ice? Chasseur
joe100
I haven't decided how I'm going to display it yet. Might do something like that Chasseur and IgorSky
IgorSky
At one time I thought about it. I assumed that I can use baking soda to depict ice. But I have not tried to do so.
joe100
Soda will break down and yellow. There are commercial products for snow and ice. I think woodland scenics and a couple others make model show and ice products John Zuch, Chasseur and IgorSky

joe100
But that's so hard! Chasseur
DSiemens
Lol. It's not as hard as it looks. You don't have to if you don't want to but if you ever decide to do something simple like a Bermuda sloop to get the hang of it. Careful though you might get hooked. ;P IgorSky and Chasseur
joe100
Thanks! But I think I get more enjoyment out of building small dioramas. I'm working on Franklin's ships now, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror. Similar diorama to Endurance. I think this summer's theme will be Explorers and their ships IgorSky, Jim Goodwin and Chasseur

Some progress: Sir, Good Day. I am a newbie in this hobby. I would like to ask if you also use paper on other parts of your model aside from the sail. I am kind of confused and unsure if it is actually right to use paper or cardboards on my model. I just kind of feel as if I am cheating.
