Shipbuilder
Just discovered my own Picaso album online I had been putting images on my blog for years, not realising that they were all piling up together in cyberspace. Most of the models were built by myself over many years, but the larger ones were built by members of North West Model Shipwrights (UK). Some of the meetings were also included. It has been quite interesting to find all these images grouped together. Chasseur
Awesome! My favorite picture of the bunch is of you standing on the beach as a young lad, holding the little yacht, that I must assume you built to float in the ocean. Shipbuilder
Thanks for the replies. The yacht was for the boating lake at Rothesay. Behind me is HMS Adamant, a submarine depot ship with a row of submarines alongside. Nine years after the photograph was taken, I was away at sea! exwafoo
The pictures of the Wasp and the Wessex winching sure brought back some memories. Thanks for sharing Alan
Shipbuilder
Thanks, that was me being winched up to the Wessex at Ascension Island. The Wasp was number 373 and I had the opportunity to have a flight in it on the way south - great experience! Bob

AndrewH
Bob Many thanks for sharing these with us. There is a lot of your personal history in there, and a lot of beautiful models as well. I was very struck by the open boats, longboats, rowing boats and the whaleboats. Aspirational models! andrew Gwyl Blaser
