Gwyl Blaser Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Well. not the kind of boat you might be thinking of. After a day of sanding, today was the day for new bottom paint. Glad that is now done, I can get back inside to my workshop. Gwyl 1 Quote
Chasseur Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) She looks ship shape! nice job Gwyl. I bet you can't wait to get out on the ocean or are you by a big lake? Jeff Edited April 19, 2015 by Chasseur 1 Quote
Gwyl Blaser Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks Jeff. We sail at a big lake. It is about 20 miles long and around 6 miles wide. Here is a picture of the lake today, right after the wind came up. Gwyl Quote
Gwyl Blaser Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 Bear Lake? DS, Yes it is. We've been sailing there every summer since the early 80's. The picture in my profile is of our boat during one of the Bear Lake Yacht Club regattas a few years ago. Gwyl Quote
Chasseur Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 WOW that looks beautiful and nice scenery to boot! Jeff 1 Quote
DSiemens Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 That's the only place I've ever sailed. Got the merit badge at the scout camp there on the horribly cheap Escapes. I don't think they make them anymore. That's where I first took an interest in sailing. Chasseur - it is a very pretty lake and very cold. Also there's a monster in it. 1 Quote
Gwyl Blaser Posted April 21, 2015 Author Report Posted April 21, 2015 Daniel, If you look at the photo of the lake, about 1/4 mile to the left of the photo is the Boy Scout Camp you were at. I spent a night or two there with my two boy when they were younger. Yes, It is pretty, and very very cold. We joke that there are two days in August when it is warm enough to jump in and the rest of the year it is cold. BTW I am still looking to see the monster! Gwyl Quote

Gwyl Blaser Posted May 17, 2015 Author Report Posted May 17, 2015 Hopefully, now that the work of painting to bottom of our C30 is done, and she was finally launched for the season late last week, I can have some time for SIB's! Two photos. First one, as she is going down the ramp, and the second one, as we are heading to our slip. Gwyl 1 Quote
