primary unknown
Hello everyone! I have a SIB that I inherited from my great uncle who was a sailor on a sailing ship when he made this ship in a bottle. It's in rough shape, the inside of the bottle is quite greasy (I'm going to imagine from whatever wax or putty was used in the base), and the paint on the outside of the bottle (likely lead) has mostly peeled away and looks rough. I would look into restoration myself but I don't have confidence that I could do it without causing more damage than good. Does any one have a recommendation for a SIB store or worker that might be able to help with a restoration? I'd been looking for something in Ontario, preferably the GTA. Attached are images in case that helps!
JesseLee
Don't know where or who to direct you to, but it is nice to have something made by and passed down to family.
